Abstract

This article Art and Education: An approach to the culture of the city of Embu das Artes for teacher training in the pedagogy course aims to articulate the local culture as training support for the course in pedagogy and teacher training. Within this perspective, the initial training of teachers in pedagogy course has an important role as it prepares future professionals to reflect and work with cultural diversity in the school context. It is believed thus open spaces that allow the school's transformation into a place where the different identities are respected and valued, considered enriching factors of citizenship. The pedagogy course of Polis Faculty of Arts comprises the local culture, is constituted as a privileged place, not only to reflect and discuss the identity of children, adolescents, youth and adults, but also as understanding of this multiculturalism in the city Embu das Artes, therefore, an important element in the training of future teachers.
