Art and city: experiences of dance in the urban space

Abstract

In this work we propose to share the description, comparison and analysis of events, expectations, conceptions of dance and stage in two contemporary dance festivals in the urban space of the Ciudad de La Plata, province of Buenos Aires, Argentina: the Festival Danzafuera and the Festival Diagonales. From an ethnographic approach we will detect considerations of the relationship between this art and the public space, opening a series of questions about the links between art, politics and society.
