Our paper explores the V edition of an art fair that took place in Córdoba during 1989. The objectives comprise two axes: 1) Identify some (dis)continuities between the five editions of the fair started in 1983, taking into account the particularities of 1989, when several agents, from different fields, sponsored this event in a context of democratization and inflationary crisis. 2) To investigate the characteristics acquired at the fair by the European exhibition entitled Landscapes of Emilia-Romagna. We combine approaches from Cultural History and Sociology of Art, while the documentary corpus covers written, oral and visual vestiges. The hypothesis holds that the traveling exhibition from the Italian region involved an presentation of one hundred photographs and was sponsored by three institutions based in Cordoba (the Consulate of Italy, the Italian Institute of Culture and the Secretariat of Extension of the National University) together with an international organization (the Emilia-Romagna Association).
