Abstract

This article highlights the actor as a vital condition to the development and poetics of Alma Mate from Flores, Community Theatre group part of Buenos Aires´s theatrical field. The Argentinian Community Theatre builds its artistic work around citizen participation, from a community of neighbors that manifest and constitute neighborhood identity through the theatrical action. Today we can find a general framework on the development of acting in this kind of theatre, however each community group has their own particular accent or emphasis, trends and practices, which defines their character. This matter has not been researched and in this study we pretend to contemplate it, establishing how Alma Mate builds identity and style, in order to contrast these elements with other pre-existing acting profiles within the city of Buenos Aires.
