This paper explores a set of experiences of contemporary dance between the seventies and
nineties, a period marked by authoritarianism and the fragility of the democratizing processes. In
order to contribute to its historization, politicity and precarity are problematized as constitutive
elements of these artistic practices located in a certain geographical and historical context. A
repertoire of actions that worked as a condition of possibility of this artistic practice in the local
space is recognized. A diverse documentary corpus (written, journalistic and photographic) is
analized by a transdisciplinary Cultural History theorical frame and with contributions from dance
studies.
