Abstract

In this article we will analyze the “indications” posted by Teresa de Mello Breyner in her tragedy Osmia, awarded and published by the Royal Academy of Sciences of Lisbon in 1788. Therefore, we will see elements as varied as the scenery, the gestures, the scenic space, interpretation, and costumes. In our view, this specific indications may suggest the playwright theatrical vision and are meaningful to the reader and the director, because they allow to imagine the atmosphere of the time and the space where the action will take place.
